Let our decades of genealogy and detective experience work for you

We specialize in tracing your lineage as far back as the 1700s, and often even earlier, uncovering every branch of your family tree—whether it’s your direct ancestors or the entire extended family, including siblings, spouses, and children. Our experience and dedicated pursuit of verified facts ensures that no detail is overlooked.

We leverage all available resources to dive as deeply into the past as the documentation allows. Our thorough approach begins with online resources and includes visits to local libraries, historical societies, and government institutions like the Danish National Archives.

This “paper trail” provides the basis of our work. From there, we visit churchyards and significant historical sites tied to your family’s history, uncovering clues and the stories that shaped your ancestors’ lives.

Our research spans both the distant past and the present, as we also locate descendants and often connect you with living relatives. When we reach out to them and receive their permission to interview them, their stories often reveal new facts and perspectives about your family’s history.

For us, this is where the excitement truly begins. We are passionate about bringing your heritage to life and can even help you plan a trip to Denmark, allowing you to walk in your ancestors’ footsteps and meet newly discovered relatives

Presenting your family history

When our research concludes, we create a comprehensive report of our findings, complete with a detailed pedigree chart that traces both your male and female ancestral lines. For each ancestor or ancestral couple, we craft a rich summary narrative that delves into their lives—exploring family relationships, occupations, residences, citizenship, and more. We even include photos and any other relevant information we can uncover, all woven together within the historical context of their lives. Every source of information is meticulously documented at the end of the report.

Given the depth and detail of our reports, we recommend receiving them in a beautifully designed folder for easy reference. If you travel to Denmark, we may be able to present it to you in person, sharing your family history with the turn of each page.

For your convenience, we also provide a PDF version to ensure your family history is preserved and easily accessible to distant relatives and future generations.

HOW WE WORK

Discover how we connect your family history to the present.

Professionally

We started as family researchers in our spare time, driven by a passion for helping people find ancestors and lost relatives. Now, we operate as a professional team with a systematic approach to ensure we stay on track with every project. We meticulously store sources and findings and limit our work to between two to four projects at a time, depending on their scale. We exhaust all possible sources before delivering results and concluding the project. This means that while our projects may take longer than those of other genealogists – they may provide you with deeper results.

The process

  1. Reach Out: Send us an email to get started.
  2. Preliminary Search: We’ll conduct an initial search to see if there’s enough information available for the project to meet your goals.
  3. Estimate & Quote: Based on your description, we’ll provide an estimated timeframe and a quote for our services.
  4. Project Kickoff: If you accept the quote, we’ll move forward. Please refer to our terms of service for more details.

Project costs

We love this work and derive real joy in delivering our research to our clients. Despite its time-consuming nature, we want our research to be affordable for people who want to learn about their history or connect with living relatives.

Our pricing covers our research expenses and helps us take on pro bono projects.

Each project is unique, so our fees are individually calculated based on your wishes and the project’s scope. Most projects range between US$250 and $800 but can exceed $1,200 depending on complexity. Occasionally, and only with client approval, a project may exceed that amount.
